SCRIPTURE: Hebrews 12:1-13
How we live our lives is an expression of how we have learned to fill our hearts, minds, bodies, and souls with what we believe to be the right way to think and do. Discipleship, as a word, doesn’t exist in scripture, but the verbal expression of what it means to make and form a disciple into maturity is the word “discipline.” The process of submitting ourselves to the Lord and others to grow to live lives that flourish and bring flourishing and joy to our lives as well as the lives of all we come in contact with us is “discipline.” This is the root of the “self-discipline” aspect of the fruit of the Spirit. It’s because of this that “Disciplineship” leads to flourishing and joy.
